We dived the Black Forest reef around the Pulau Kelampunian which means Light House Island on April this year. Weather was flat, sunny and visibility 17-20 meter!!! Beautiful soft coral everywhere and we saw lobster, school of red and yellow snapper, macros, blue spotted stingray, puffer, giant clams etc.
Big thanks to our Dive Instructor and guide, Ivan Tan of Bluefin Dive & Surf Kudat for another exciting dives.

Had a great time with Ivan and the crew on three dives over two days.

We had two beginners who did our first dive as a discovery dive. Ivan is very experienced and a great instructor. Perfect communication in English and great teaching style. Definitely took care of us to make sure we felt comfortable and prepared.

We also stayed in his accommodation and had a great experience. Nice views from the beach side rooms. Comfortable rooms and clean beach.

It's quite remote with limited internet and food options. But that's exactly what we were looking for and wished we had more time to stay. Just bring enough cash for your whole stay.

Worst experience of diving in Kudat. Dive with them in April 2024
1) No dive center service.. cleaning gear pool. We had to use the green icebox as a cleaning pool for our camera.
2) 2 dives in the morning. No option to do more dives.
3) they don’t have their own boat
4) poor service
5) getting food can be very difficult.

Only plus point is the room is clean.

Great surfing instructor and great surfing conditions, highly recommend. We stayed at their own accommodation, Kudat Beach House, which lies next to the surfing center, right at the beach. So relaxing falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Nice and clean room with ocean view, nice balcony, and good Wi-Fi. Ivan and his wife were super friendly and helpful!
