Nice and cozy little Japanese restaurant. Limited choice in their menu, but food taste good and authentic. We had Chicken curry rice and chicken karaage. All taste good although the chicken karaage is a bit oily.

Service is excellent. Will definitely come back .

Came back to try their chicken karage with egg mayo salad, tomato salad and onigiri rice i will rate it as excellent. Changed my rating to 5 stars

So this place almost got a 1 star from me cause our order of the onigiri and karaage took almost 45mins to arrive as they ran out of rice, we saw our fried chicken being taken to the onigiri counter and was left there for a good 15mins before taken back to the kitchen, and we were informed almost 30 mins in that they ran out of rice. There were only 4 tables plus one tatami area available in the cafe and they have around 6 servers at the time all looking very busy but inefficient. I guess due to it being new, the operations are definitely not smooth, and can be improved. However this is the place where all the negative comment ends.

The servers were polite and apologetic when they informed us about the lack of rice situation which cooled down our “heat” a little, then we requested for the cake to be served first. The cake was absolutely delicious, it’s a good balanced matcha taste, the cake roll was fluffy and light, the cream was light the entire thing was like a cloud and a delight. Then came our 45mins main dish, my goodness, I guess this is what fulfilling happiness tastes like. The chicken was served hot and juicy, and onigiri (I had the simmered chicken my mum had the tuna) and we both agreed the rice was cooked to perfection, my mum really liked the side dishes, I’m not for one on any side dishes so no comment on my part. Just when we thought this couldn’t get any better, they served the strawberry daifuku. It was the best daifuku I had in my life! The cream and bean paste was in perfect ratio, skin was chewy, the strawberry was very surprisingly sweet and juicy.

The pricey is bougie but I will pay for it. The service speed and coordination really needs to improve but the staffs were friendly. I would visit during off peak hours and when a pick me up is needed. So I guess a 4 stars for room of improvement but will give a 5 if I didn’t need to wait and became hangry

First time for me. Stopped in for lunch & was very impressed. Very calming atmosphere with background music ( yes background so no problem having a conversation). The service was delightful. The lunch menu is not extensive, several onigiri based lunch specials, I had the mackerel. The presentation was great & the flavours of all the dishes delicious. A really nice combination. I had a fresh made iced green tea as well. Definitely recommended as a lunch venue. I will return with friends.

I discovered this new restaurant by chance. The food is very exquisite and tastes delicious. It will be full during lunch time, so if you like it, you have to order in advance.

New Japanese cafe in Tanjong Tokong. Tamafuku cafe. Dishes just like home cook food. 7 types of onigiri for you to choose 🤭🤭🤭each onigiri consists of 100g of rice for Ala carte. And I ordered 4😬😬😬😬
1) Jako and Ooba RM8
2) plum and yakari ( my favourite . You all know why 🤭🤭🤭) RM8
3) Okaka ( bonito flake) RM8
4) Simmered minced chicken RM8
Love all of them . The flavour is light yet flavourful. Is very comfort to eat. The rice is warm 🥰🥰🥰🥰

こちらは私たちがペナンに移住して1年余りで、最も満足しているレストランです。私たちは元々日本食が大好きで、一つには料理が繊細であること、もう一つは、オーナーさんが店内の装飾に心を込めていることがとても素晴らしいです。特に、私が子供の頃から大好きだった畳の座敷を100％再現していることに感動しました。
今後さらに多くの美味しい料理を開発していただけることを願っています。オーナーさんからは、テイクアウトできるお弁当も作る予定だとお聞きしました。わが家の子供たちは大喜びでした。本当に楽しみにしています！
