We ordered the mixed grill — it was absolutely delicious! Don’t miss out on their black pepper sauce — it takes the flavor to the next level.
Paired it with a glass of Paulaner, which was incredibly smooth and refreshing.
The ambiance was cozy and comfortable, and the prices were very reasonable.
We’re already looking forward to coming back to try their spaghetti.
Highly recommended — a great spot for a satisfying meal and a relaxing time!

Mixed grill is a must. The steak is also very tender. The truffle pasta is absolutely amazing. Another one of my long time favorite restaurants.

Atmosphere — a little old, no ac, neighborhood restaurant

Food — good, portion is great, price is very reasonable. Sausages are really good as they are not salty. Salad is very fresh and portion is big. Every dish here are good in size.

We had a shared platter and we sharing among 3 adult females, we can’t finish at all.

This German restaurant is a very old establishment with no change in setup on furnishing, decoration, menu & serving style. Glad that recently, payment by cards are accepted (imagine how inconvenient to bring cash while entertaining your customers). Faithful customers around the area keep returning to enjoy her dishes which servings are generally big. Prices are very reasonable. Beer is served. Note that the restaurant is close on Sundays!! Taste of the dishes is not bad but one should go only occasionally as the menu choices are limited.

My husband called and make reservation. The staff will give you time slot to choose. Hard to find parking. For the price you paid, you get a good portion of meals. Since it is my birthday, each one of us ordered a meal and we couldn’t finish it. Can share unless you are a big eater ☺️. Restaurant looks clean. Food taste good. Staffs response when you need them. Food taste were all equally good but they were too dry - the pork knuckle meat were like trying to eat through a carpet, and the mixed grill also felt quite dry
The soup was very flavorful, the sauerkraut was very juicy and the mashed potatoes were smooth af though

Disclaimer: I'm writing this review as someone who has been to their establishment multiple times since I was a child. I've consistently recommended this place to others who visit Penang, but I won't be doing that anymore.

I called their place to clarify if we could bring a small dog along. The person on the other side of the line said yes. To make sure, I asked him multiple times to make sure that it was the case, and he just said yes.

When we arrived, they told us that the place was not, in fact, pet-friendly. This was fine by me. BUT the way the waiter who said this was extremely rude. "Who told you?" he literally said to my face in a mocking tone when I clarified that I had called earlier and asked about bringing a dog. The owner's attitude was dismissal as well, as though it was normal for his waiters to be rude to customers.

Overall behaviour was disgusting coming from a place I've known for over 20 years. I don't expect a 5-star service. I was fine with the place not being pet-friendly. But I do expect basic human politeness and the decency to not raise your voice at a customer who, in the beginning, asked you nicely about seating arrangements. Unless they fix their attitude I'm never returning to this place again.
