I had a wonderful experience at Vayu Spa, and I highly recommend it! I booked a 90-minute Javanese massage along with a head massage, and it was truly relaxing. My therapist, Puspa, an Indian masseuse was amazing — professional,made sure I was comfortable throughout.

The spa atmosphere was clean, calming, and beautifully scented. The treatment room had a peaceful vibe with candles and soft music. The massage bed was a little firm, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated the warm ginger tea served before and after the treatment — such a lovely touch that shows how much they care about their guests.

One small hiccup: when I initially asked for directions at the hotel reception, they were quite rude and unhelpful. Thankfully, the Vayu Spa receptionist stepped in, kindly guided me to the spa, and helped with payment details. There’s even a mini mart next door, which is super convenient if you need anything after your session.

Disappointing Massage Experience at Vayu Massage @ Travelodge Ipoh

I recently stayed at Travelodge Hotel in Ipoh for a business trip and decided to try the in-house massage service after seeing an advertisement card in my room. The promotion mentioned a special discount for hotel guests, so I contacted the provided WhatsApp number to confirm the details and made an appointment for 9pm the next day.

However, due to work commitments, I couldn't return to the hotel on time. Around 7pm+, I messaged them to ask if I could delay my session by 30 minutes. The reception was friendly and assured me that it was fine, which I appreciated. Excited to unwind after a long day, I rushed back, took a quick shower, and headed to the massage center, expecting a relaxing experience.

Upon arrival, an Indian therapist greeted me and began by washing my feet. She then asked which package I had chosen, and I confirmed that I had booked the Aromatherapy Massage (RM148). However, she immediately discouraged me, saying that Aromatherapy was very soft and merely involved applying oil, demonstrating with a light touch on my leg. She then suggested the Deep Tissue Massage (RM185), claiming it was the only way to experience real pressure.

I was surprised by this approach and told her that I expected a proper massage, not just oil application. She then agreed to proceed but continued insisting that if I wanted more pressure, it would be considered a different package—Deep Tissue for RM185 or Javanese for RM170. I found this completely unreasonable. In my experience, different massage types have distinct techniques, but adjusting pressure should not require an extra charge.

Inside the massage room, she initially used the correct Aromatherapy technique with her palms, but she deliberately kept the pressure extremely light. When I requested a firmer touch, she responded that anything harder would be classified as a Deep Tissue Massage, requiring additional payment. Even when she did apply slightly more pressure, it lasted only a few seconds before returning to the soft, ineffective strokes. It felt like she was intentionally holding back to upsell a pricier package.

As a result, my shoulders and head remained tense, and I left the session feeling frustrated rather than relaxed. Instead of feeling pampered, I felt pressured into spending more money.

Additional Pricing Concern:
Another important note for hotel guests—don't be misled by the displayed prices. The RM148 package isn’t actually RM128 after the RM20 hotel guest discount. There’s an additional 10% tax, making the final amount RM140.80. I paid rm150 and she returned me RM9. So be aware of hidden charges!

Final verdict:
The therapist’s unprofessional attitude and upselling tactics completely ruined what should have been a premium massage experience. For the price charged, I expected five-star service, but instead, I felt cheated and disappointed. This was, unfortunately, my worst massage experience ever.

From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. The ambiance was serene and calming, with soft lighting, gentle music, and a refreshing scent that instantly helped me unwind. The staff were friendly...My massage therapist was respectful. Her name was Nani, They checked in about pressure and areas of tension, and I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and rebalanced.Highly recommend this spa for anyone looking to truly relax and treat themselves. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Did aromatherapy together with hubby n we were massaged by Ary n Meenu . Both r great masseuses and we felt relaxed after the therapy. Hot towels were used to wipe off the oil essence. Ginger tea were served at the end. Great n friendly service. Thank you.

The worst experience for manicure ever, charged RM 85 plus Rm30 (just for that streak of white lines at the front) without even informing that it will be extra charges, more like offered herself to do it. And which gel manicure peels off on its own within hours of doing it. Today is just day one, and the 'gel' came of from the thumb as well. Wondered why and just attempted mildly to peel, it peeled off more so easily, how is this even GEL MANICURE such low quality, will never return here anymore! RM115 FOR THIS?

I had a leg massage session with this young lady named Nana. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. It was started off with my feet soaking in elsom salt warm water. At the same time, I was given a flyer about the benefits of soaking in elsom salt while Nana was explaining the procedure about the soaking. She was really concerned about the temperature, the loudness of music and even the degree of massage which might make me discomfort. Well, they were all good for me. After the soaking, I was brought into a room. She explained well on what I should do. At the beginning, I was concerned about pain I might get but it started well with my foot and calf on my both legs. When it was my thigh, I could feel pain which meant something was blocked. However, I could still bear the pain, perhaps I am used to massage. The massage ended after an hour and my legs were so relieved. If you were to look for a massage, this would be the one. Nana did her job really well.
