I loved everything about this resort. Peaceful with just a few bungalows, which are well equipped,but not overdesigned, so the Robinson feel is there. 🙂 Superb food, kind and helpful staff, snorkeling and diving trips available. The riff just outside of the resort is breathtaking. Enjoy a nice drink at the bar after a good snorkeling day, and relax! 🙂

Walking to the morning buffet on your right the jungle chirps, rattles, whistles, trills, croaks, cooes and hoots. On your left babyreefsharks silently cruise the shallows, and in front of you butterflies as big as birds flirt along the path. The buffet is plentiful and healthy. The crew is friendly, gracious and resourceful. Sporadically there is no electricity nor water but that’s part of the eco friendly island charm. And one doesn’t really miss it. Why was Tom Hanks upset in Cast Away? We are so sorry to leave we might utter some woeful animal sounds ourselves.

Rimba is, as always, a perfect escape from the 'real world'. Rooms are comfortable and basic, the bar and restaurant simple and EXTREMELY effective at what they do.

Staff are friendly, helpful, resourceful and chatty - you'll find someone to talk to anytime of the day or night.

Food - breakfasts usually buffet and plentiful. Lunches - also buffet with hot and cold options. Supper, Friday 4-courses, Saturday bbq, rest of the week simply delicious too!!

When you arrive at the jetty, pay your jetty fee at the first hatch on the right, then your taxes at the last hatch on the right. Then hop aboard your boat and the Rimba tram will whisk you across to their amazing beach to arrive onto in about 15-20 mins.

As others have noted, while the location and beach are beautiful, everything here is absurdly overpriced under the guise of simplicity. When we received the bill, we felt somewhat deceived.

For over $100 per night, the facilities are unexplicably basic—no hot water, air conditioning, proper doors or windows (!), Wi-Fi, or bathroom amenities (bring your own shampoo...). Our room, which was supposed to have a sea view, didn’t due to obstructive vegetation. On nearby islands, you could stay in a 4-star chalet for the same price and get all of the above and more. I love simplicity and did like the rooms; I don't need a flat-screen TV or AC, but I still can’t justify the price given how basic it is. These guys' margins must be better than Apple's.

Everything at the resort also comes with a hefty price tag—from renting a snorkel mask to meals. The food, while well-prepared, offers no choice (there’s no menu). We enjoyed a very tasty barbecue on our first day but were served repackaged leftovers (!) for the next two days, still at premium fixed prices.

Despite low visibility, they pushed us to dive, claiming conditions had improved. It was the worst dive of my life, with barely a meter of visibility. No discount was offered.

Additionally, reaching the island costs 150 ringgit per person for the boat and another 150 for a taxi from Mersing. Frankly, it’s really not worth it if you only plan to stay here.

Overall, the value for money is abysmal, especially considering what you could get on nearby islands like Tioman with the same budget.

Es handelt sich hier um ein kleines abgeschiedenes Resort auf der Insel Sibu für Naturliebhaber.
Die "Zimmer" sind einzelne kleine Hütten, die im einheimischen Stil errichtet sind. Es gibt in jeder Hütte ein kleines Bad mit Trinkwasser. Die Hütten sind grundsätzlich offen und können nicht verschlossen werden. Dadurch sind die Fliegennetze über den Betten wichtig.
Das Essen ist sehr gut. Es gibt zum Frühstück und zum Mittagessen ein westliches Buffet aber auch malayische Gerichte. Abends gibt es für Kinder ein separates Essen und für Erwachsene ein 3-Gänge Menü plus Nachtisch. Dies ist schon sehr beachtenswert für die Möglichkeit, die es hier gibt.
Bei der Ankunft mit dem Boot muss man sich auf nasse Füße einstellen. Es gibt hier keinen Anleger, über den die Insel trockenen Fußes erreicht werden kann. Bei dem Gepäck bekommt man Hilfe, so dass es nicht nass wird.

In Strandnähe sind leider kaum lebenden Korallen zu sehen erst ca. 50 bis 100m vom Strand entfernt ist das Riff gut zu sehen.
Fische gibt es aber auch schon recht dicht am Strand.
Fast täglich werden Schnorchel- und Tauchtouren angeboten. Das erforderliche Equipment kann man hier ausleihen.
Es stehen Kajaks für kleine Ausflüge zur Verfügung.
Die Bucht, welche sich an der Nordseite der Insel befindet, ist gut geschützt und dadurch gibt es kaum Seegang.
Das Wasser ist größtenteils flach. Als Erwachsener kann man, abhängig von der Tide, an vielen Stellen stehen.

Wann immer man etwas erfrischendes trinken möchte ist die Bar eine gute Anlaufstelle. Hier bekommt man zu moderaten Preisen frische Säfte, Softdrinks, Cocktails/Mocktails, Bier usw.
Die Milchshakes sind bei unseren Kindern sehr beliebt.
Falls jemandem nach etwas Lektüre ist, steht ein frei zugängliches Bücherregal an der Rezeption. Eine kleine Auswahl an Karten- und Gesellschaftsspielen sind hier auch zu finden.

Eine Anfrage und Buchung kann ganz bequem via WhatsApp und Mail erfolgen. Auf Wunsch kann der Transfer von Kuala Lumpur oder anderen Standorten nach Tanjung Leman (der Boot-Anleger am Festland) mit gebucht werden. Diesen Transfer mit zu buchen ist nur zu empfehlen.
Der Aufenthalt sollte mindestens 5 Tage (4 Nächte) lang sein, um die Touren zum Schnorcheln/Tauchen und in den direkt ans Resort grenzenden Dschungel mitmachen zu können.

Dieses Resort ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.
