Finally get a chance to visit Oriental after observing the hype and yes the q still long at a lot of their outlets. Good for them.

I was told this outlet at Alamanda is new, taken over the same spot of mekdi many years ago.

The food was OK, not much difference than chain kopitiam I have frequented. Quite nice, taste good and moderately portion - which is good for me. I dont like oversized meal with jacked up price. Lols

But one thing let down, the service. There was no good morning, thank you, enjoy your meal, hope you like it and no smiles at all while providing service. 😂 Yeah I found this funny because for such a nice place and quite nice food, the service crews just shoot themselves in the foot.

On my way out, I spotted the mooncakes and bought 4 of them. The boxes were pretty - (the trick for selling mooncakes!). The crews were slightly better because she said they run out of the pretty hard case boxes. I said I bought because of the hard case so if you don’t have I cancel.

She then with some efforts figured out the hard case boxes and packed for me. 😎

Till then, good food must come with good services especially if you charge service taxes 😁 All the best and semoga terus istiqamah.

delicious food, clean eating space, acceptable waiting time… for place that charged 10+6 for service tax, your service definitely not up to par. i rather being served by robot than human..even robots are more humane than the staff.

Food 4 bintang. Service 4 bintang. Atmosphere 3 bintang. Tapi keseluruhan saya bagi 3 bintang pasal harga makanan mahal. Bayangkan makan roti bakar 1 set, roti bun 1 set, kopi cawan kecil 1 dan teh ais 1 harga RM33.00 (termasuk caj lain). Roti bakar sedap, roti bun pun sedap. Walau orang ramai tak lama sangat nak tunggu makanan. Lebih kurang 15-20 minit. Tapi restoran hampir penuh. Majoriti yang datang makan Melayu. Mungkin dia orang ni banyak duit. Makanan lain saya tak tahu sedap atau tidak tapi yang oder tu makan tak habis. Tak tahulah sama ada kurang sedap atau dah kenyang. Kat sini juga ada jual macam2 minuman yang dipek seperti, teh, kopi, kaya dan lain-lain. Banyak lagi tempat lain yang lebih sedap dan lebih murah. Saje nak cuba je. Cukuplah sekali.

Pelbagai pilihan makanan untuk breakfast. Kedai selesa. Servis pantas walaupun ramai orang. Harga agak mahal tapi boleh la kalau nak cuba sekali sekala.

The famous eatery where every branch you would see people lining up to eat. Indeed the food taste fairly good although its from a central kitchen. Variety is there. Drinks are alright too. The egg tart seems to run out fast - I missed that too. Otherwise, cosy. Be patient as its crowded but the staff are always on the move.

Sedap, bersih, teratur dan sekali lagi memang sedap. Terjawab kenapa selalu orang beratur masuk kedai ni sebab kualiti makanan memang betul2 juga.
Nasi lemak - 9/10 nasi lemak serious sedap
Roti bakar kaya - 10/10
Kopi oriental ori - 9/10
Kopi putih (white coffee) - 5/10 sebab rasa macam 3 in 1 saja
Nasi ayam hainan - 9/10 sedap
Egg tart okay lembut- 8/10 lembut, wangi dan sedap

The food is amazing! Variety of choices more than other kopitiam restaurant that i had previously. The portion is just nice.

The service also good, asked me if my baby can sit or not yet, and allow me to bring the stroller in and provided me the suitable table

Definitely going to go again!

Impromptu decision - we proceeded to dine-in because the queue wasn't crazy long; it builds up quickly though. And personally, I still don't get the rave for this place.

We ordered:
prawn mee
char kuey teow
kids set of fried rice & nuggets/chicken balls.
royal iced chocolate

The food is mediocre at best, the price is exorbitantly insane, the portion and taste didn't compensate the pricing, at all. Though the menu book made it all appear as if it was a warning reflection of the price 😆

Definitely too "high class" for my cent's worth.
Service was okay, nothing stood out.
The tables are really close to one another.

Will I voluntarily eat here again? No.
Unless it's free 🤣
