Tasty food but limited choice during lunch.

Big piece of drumstick spread into a fillet shape.

A lot of brown sauce provided, it was creamy, delicious and satisfying.

FOOD : Non-Halal
LOCATION : Fettes (Prima Tanjung)
CHOICE : Good
TASTE : Good
PRICE : Satisfactory
AVG.VALUE: RM20.00 - 110.00 per plate / set
(1 set of soup, ice-cream, & corn-fed ribeye = RM110)

This time we took the Nachos, Pasta Pesto, Spaghetti Marinara, and Chilli Lime Sauce Barramundi.

The Pasta Pesto was good but the other was too wet or drenched became too soggy.

The Nachos Cheese was superb but limited salsa sauce which made some nachos without salsa sauce. The restaurant should have given some more sauce in a bowl for extra dipping.

The Spicy Lime Barramundi is with a deep fried Barramundi fish then cover with Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce (most probably with Maepranom Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce). The fish is fresh but what a waste to be deep fried and drenched with a simple thai sauce.

The Ice-Cream was cute, pretty and fashionable. It wore an inverted cone like a hat which made them look cute. Overall it taste good, coupled with a tinge of chocolate syrup and some sprinkles spread out.

posh eating. deserves solid credit, but is short of distinction.

sunday roast was well executed, but would be better more rare, indeed feral. veggies, in particular potato, added their punch to the plate, but came in undersized portions.

pesto on pasta was fresh, and both smelt and tasted the part. sausage on plate was ok, but didn't add to the zesty green vibe.

chicken parmigiana was likewise good, but would be better with dark-meat cutlet. tomato sauce could also be more lively.

Reassuring to see that No Eyed Deer is still in Penang ("Where shall we have lunch?" may, ironically, produce this suggestion). It's a popular venue for panAsian and European food.

Now that the pedestrian bridge links this parade of shops with Island Plaza, it's easier to reach. You can see the place from the road.

The Laksa is probably the highlight here, but the Sunday roast is quite good, too (no horseradish, but you get a Yorkshire pudding, and the beef is tender).

The lunch menu is limited, but there are far more options in the evening.

Incredible food and atmosphere. The owner is also very polite and pleasant. I would definitely come again. Trivia: This restaurant has been around for 24 years, their coffee jelly is to die for.

The chicken and corn soup carried an oddly discordant aroma, as though something foreign had intruded upon its natural harmony. The mango lassi, rather than exuding the lush vibrancy of ripe fruit, bore an artificial undertone, reminiscent of something more synthetic than sun-kissed orchards. The chicken pamigana , regrettably, was an exercise in blandness—its very essence seemed to have been stripped away, leaving behind only texture without depth. The sauce, sparse to the point of irrelevance, failed to lend any salvaging grace. As for the mashed potatoes, they were a study in absence, lacking not only seasoning but the very soul of what makes such a dish comforting.

I've been to No Eyed Deer (no idea 🤔😆) several times for lunch, I've just had a lovely dinner. Very tasty, generous portions and quite a wide dinner menu. Will be back more often, thanks to Boss Ken.

I haven’t been to this restaurant for a number of years, simply because I forget about it as it is upstairs and I don’t always see it. But this is my bad mistake because it really is excellent and serves a great mix of Western food with some local food for good balance. The fact that this is a really good place can be proven by the fact that it is still in operation after some 20 years, whereas many other restaurants come and go. I had the set menu of Chicken Parmigiana, which comes with a good soup and a nice ice cream desert. The chicken was the softest I have ever eaten and my wife’s hearty stew was extremely tender in a great sauce. The Tiramisu was also excellent. Prices are fair, and the portions are great. The restaurant is extremely clean, with a nice relaxing feel and I certainly will make sure that we visit here much more often in the future.

Enjoyed our dinner here. It's western food at dinner time. We tried the Chilli Lime Barramundi and the Fish and Chips. The chips could have been better and the mash served with the Barramundi was not seasoned too well. But otherwise the dishes looked good and tasted just fine. My wife really enjoyed the chilli lime sauce. Perfectly tangy and working beautifully with the fish. The Tiger beer was served chilled and the mango lassi was adequate.

The place is on the first floor of the Prima Tanjung Business Centre in Tanjung Tokong and has been around. It therefore attracts its fair share of regulars. The service was attentive and the welcome and farewell warm and friendly. Something that F&B establishments around Penang would do well to learn. We will come back again to try the Asian offerings during lunchtime.
