We came here at the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The Hor Fun was quite good in both taste and portion size. However, the best dish we had was the fish ball. It was very fresh and the sauce that went with it was very tasty. Price-wise, it's very affordable. They serve other Ipoh favourites, and I think they're worth trying for sure. For me, if you're a fan of good Sar Hor Fun, Ipoh Boy is worth a try.

Ipoh Trip Day 2 Part 1

Didn't plan anything for Day 2 but this was the day where new discoveries were very good (at least in my book).

We drank quite a lot of wines on the night of Day 1 - 6 bottles for 4 person to be exact - and by the time we woke up the next day, it was already 10am++ and everyone was famished.

Google Search revealed Ipoh Boy Eatery in Tambun area where we stayed - and its high rating was the determining factor. Drove there straight away without any expectation and was wowed by the overall quality of the Ipoh mali dish that can be found literally everywhere.

◾Ipoh hor fun was genuinely delicious with its narrow sheets of hor fun (unlike those in Klang Valley) soaked in the soup brimming with the flavours of chicken stock and prawn oil. Authentic!
◾poached chicken came and it took only the first piece to know that these guys mean business. The meat was nicely chopped and presented on plate... Smooth and sweet drenched in light soy sauce.
◾Blanched octopus - another must try dish where the seafood was blanched at the right doneness.
◾bean sprout - plump, juicy and nice.
◾Meat ball & fish ball - both were quite big in size.
◾Kopi which to my surprise quite good with strong kopi taste.

To those in Tambun and searching for a good bowl of kai si hor fun, this is it!

Came here to try its famous shredded chicken ho fun.
After tried, it was really delicious. The broth is yummy, shredded chicken ho fun has prawn too.
Came here late a bit no more drumsticks or thigh left breast and wings only.
So we ordered chicken wings and chicken breast ho fun. The special part is the chicken part and beansprouts are placed in another plate. Noodles in a bowl.

Only sell kshf and steam chicken with rice, meat balls, chicken feets.

Tried Ipoh Boy recently and it absolutely hit the spot! The chicken was smooth and tender, cooked just right to preserve its natural sweetness. The chicken rice was fragrant and flavourful – not overly oily, but rich in taste.

But the real standout? The noodles. Hands down out of this world! Springy texture, paired with a tasty, umami-packed soup base that kept me going back for more. The bean sprouts deserve a special mention too – fresh, crunchy, and lightly blanched, just the way I like them.

If you're craving a hearty, satisfying Ipoh-style meal, this is definitely worth a visit. Simple, authentic, and delicious.

Uniquely Ipoh dish. Unpretentious. Silky, smooth Hor Fun simmering in that signature umami rich broth, that's so Ipoh.
On the sides, there's the crunchiest blanched bean sprouts that only Ipoh has, divinely steamed chicken with the winning dash of soy sauce and spring onions, and finally, bouncy fish ball, also equally dashed with soy sauce and spring onions.
It looks plain yet comforting in the spoon yet, immediately bursts into an absolute riot of flavours in the mouth.
The transformation needs to be experienced!
