Coach Darren is a super friendly and helpful coach. Under his guidance, my strength improves. He provides clear and helpful explanations during the training, and therefore creating a fun and less stressful learning environment for rookie like me. He is forever patience in teaching too, as he will spend time encouraging and correcting my posture. I felt extremely happy because I managed to gain some arm muscles under his training too, and that is one of my goals too. I would say coach Darren is the best coach and I would recommend him to people I know.

I joined ilift to have a push on my fitness journey and to get proper guidance. I wanted to learn better techniques and form that will be useful in the long run as I make fitness a part of my life. Coach Shannon has definitely taught me exercises that will be beneficial and he pushed me to keep going even when I wanted to give up. I never understood why people liked lifting weights cause it seems so torturing. But, I get it now. The joy and adrenaline rush you get when you're able to lift a certain weight is amazing! I felt so strong and independent. Exercises comes in all kinds of forms and I definitely like lifting weights and I can do it more confidently on my own now. I really appreciate all the help and guidance Coach Shannon has given me. He's helped me get the momentum of working out more regularly and it's a habit I plan to stick to for a long time.

Many years ago, a friend told me about personal trainers. Back then, I didn’t think I needed one. With AI and YouTube, I could easily find information about healthy eating and lifestyle, and follow endless workout videos.

Since young, I was never naturally slim. Before I turned 18, I was always overweight. I had to work much harder than others to control my weight — the moment I let myself go, I would gain quickly.

At 18, I started jogging and swimming, and even followed a keto diet for 5 years. I reached my goal, but developed knee pain that never went away. After starting work, I tried aerobics, Zumba, and spin classes. My weight stayed under control, but the knee pain was always there. My weight kept fluctuating — if I ate a little more, it would go up.

By April this year, my BMI had climbed to 28.4. I went on an overseas short-term mission trip, and every photo I saw became a wake-up call. No one criticized me, but I knew I didn’t want to be the person in those pictures.

I restarted my weight loss plan. I followed YouTube workouts, ate “healthy” food, and went extreme — one meal a day (lunch) and oats for breakfast and dinner. In 3 months, I lost 7 kg, but my knee pain came back even worse. I searched for solutions online, but it only got worse. That’s when I started thinking about getting a personal trainer.

I hesitated — was it worth spending that much money? I researched and spoke to a few training centres. In the end, I chose iLift because of a friend’s testimony and its strong reputation.

Joining iLift was a turning point. I’m not someone who naturally loves exercise — in the past, I worked out only because I had to. But this journey changed my mindset. I started enjoying the process because I could see and feel the changes. My stamina and endurance improved, I could wear clothes I liked, and my posture became more elegant. My friends were inspired by my progress and wanted to be healthier too.

After just over a month at iLift, I lost 3 kg. I’m eating healthier, loving my lifestyle, and — best of all — my knee pain is gone. The problem that troubled me for years has completely disappeared.

Now, I have a trainer who feels like a friend. He makes training fun, teaches me how to run and swim again, and helps me rebuild my old exercise habits. I’ve also learned from him to live calmly, not be overly goal-driven, and enjoy the pace of life.

I’m grateful for this transformation — not just in my body, but in my mindset and lifestyle. I hope to keep going, stay consistent, and continue inspiring others.

It has been an empowering journey for me. Coach Shannon is patient yet effectively pushing me to go beyond my limits - both physically and mentally. There are times when I thought that I would not be able to complete the exercise but I made it through, overcoming the challenge. Shannon also helps keep the momentum going and somewhat has helped me kept my discipline. And overtime, the sessions have so far re-set my mindset in truly discovering and living the fact now that I am able to do something to take care of my own health and fitness. I also feel assured that I am on the right track knowing that I am in good hands of a coach when doing the various exercises in each session. Thanks too to Shannon for always keeping the sessions in a jovial mood and motivating mode. Well done to iLift as well for making such training facility available in town.

I’ve been training with Jeremy since January 2025, with the goal of slimming down to 60kg and improving my overall health. Since then, I’ve definitely noticed that I gained better strength and a more toned physique. Each session leaves me physically tired but mentally refreshed, and Jeremy’s motivational and supportive approach makes a big difference in keeping me consistent.

He is great at customizing workouts to suit my needs and limitations, and he consistently checks in and communicates well, even outside of training sessions. The scheduling is flexible, which is definitely a plus. Overall, I would highly recommend Jeremy to anyone looking for a dedicated and encouraging personal trainer who genuinely cares about your progress.
