Nice stay at this industrial-themed Airbnb-hotel hybrid. The space was clean, well-maintained and decorated with stylish lighting that enhanced the modern urban aesthetic.

The accommodation featured two spacious bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds. Both bathrooms were clean and equipped with rain shower but a handheld shower option would have been a nice addition.

Love the large windows and the view. Another important thing was the private parking lot with security guard.

While the absence of a washing machine was a slight downside for longer stays, everything else more than made up for it.

Choose this highly rated homestay managed by Nest Home because of its reviews and location.
Surprisingly, the adequately equipped studio was well beyond my expectations.
The room was large enough to accommodate one compact “kitchen” and dinning area.
The bed is comfortable and large, which I personally think that it deserves a 5-stars rating.
Instructions for checking in/out is clear and simple.
Like what was commented by most, it’s within walking distance from list of eateries and spa.
Will definitely make it my first choice for subsequent trips.

We had such a bad experience in this particular unit because of how disgustingly grey the pillow case was. So bad that even though we checked in at 10pm, we booked another hotel room and left the place ASAP. Btw, no water dispenser or wifi in this unit. The only way to get water was from a vending machine downstairs but even that was switched off.

Alright, folks, listen up! Donkey and I decided to treat ourselves to a staycation in Mount Austin over the weekend, and we chose Cube8teens by Nest Home for a two-night stay. We were drawn to the apartment style homestay with its living room and cozy bedroom, as seen in the Google photos.

The Good:

• The Apartment: Thankfully, the apartment itself was a pleasant surprise. It was cozy and comfortable, with a spacious living room, a well-equipped kitchen with a microwave and water dispenser, and a cozy bedroom. They even provided a standing iron for ironing clothes, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was clean and simply renovated, and the entire apartment was very tidy and free from insects or dust. We particularly enjoyed the balcony, which offered a good view of the main road.

The Quirks:

• The Check-in Process: Our arrival was a bit of a rollercoaster. We arrived late at night, and it took about 15 minutes to clear security at the gate. Then, we had to go to the main lobby to complete self-registration and get our keys, which added another 5 minutes to the process. The real frustration came when we tried to access the assigned car park on the fifth floor. The barrier wouldn't open, even after we tapped our car park key card on the gantry. We waited for another 10 minutes until a security officer arrived and managed to open the barrier. He suggested we park in the basement and try to change the car park key card the next day. Luckily, the barrier opened just as donkey was heading down to the basement, so Donkey decided to park on the fifth floor after all. The whole check-in process, from the guardhouse to the self-key collection and car park ordeal, was a bit tedious and time-consuming, especially after a long journey. Really cannot imagine how frustrating it would be during the day when it's hot!

• The Location: While the apartment itself was comfortable, we did find that the location was a bit isolated. There were no shops or restaurants right outside, and we had to walk about 800 meters to find a bustling area with eateries and cafes.

Donkey's Take: The apartment was really nice and cozy, but the check-in process was a bit of a headache.

My Take: I loved the balcony! It was a great place to relax and enjoy the view.

Cub8teens is an apartment in Mount Austin managed by an accommodation provider called Nest Home.

Below is the procedure for your check in at the apartment:

1. Upon confirmation of your online booking, Nest Home will WhatsApp you the necesary check in information on the morning of your arrival day. You are required to provide your personal details for the confirmation of your stay. You shall then receive a check in guide informing your apartment unit number and the passcode to collect your access cards in the letterbox.

2. Upon arrival at the apartment building, head to the guard post and inform the security officer your unit number. You are required to present your passport for verification. Collect a parking pass from the security if you are driving.

3. Walk into the apartment building. Locate the accommodation provider’s office beside the fitness centre on the ground floor. Input the password in the event the office is locked after office hours. Once inside, you shall find many letter boxes. Select the notified one and open the lock with the provided password. Retrieve the unit and parking access cards. Take the lift and head up to your apartment unit for your check in.

The apartments are from the 6th to 18th floors. I had booked a One Bedroom Deluxe Suite for my one night stay. I was accommodated on the 6th level, whereby the nearest lifts are no. 3 and 4. The apartment is clean and well maintained. It is spacious and comes with a living room, kitchenette and a bedroom with an attached bathroom. The king size mattress is firm and two pillows are provided. There is a small balcony in the bedroom. Although the apartment offers an unobstructed view of the cityscape, it can get a little noisy with cars and motorbikes zooming by, even during late night.

The apartment is well furnished with a refrigerator, microwave, induction cooker, water dispenser and utensils. A hair dryer, dental kit, 2-in-1 hair and body wash are also provided. The bathroom offers a rain shower, which I found the water pressure to be acceptable. A bidet spray is also installed beside the WC. For entertainment, there is a SMART TV to enjoy YouTube and Netflix. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided, which worked well during my stay.

The apartment is a 12mins (800m) walk to the centre of Mount Austin. You will find an abundance of amenities such as convenience stores, bubble tea shops, cafés, restaurants, karaokes and massage centres. Some of them are open till late, which offers a great supper choice if you are feeling hungry.

In Mount Austin, there are no 3 and 4-star properties of international brands. Whilst Cub8teens by Nest Home is not a hotel, it makes a great and affordable accommodation choice if you are planning a stay here in the Mount Austin district.
