It was a long hauling journey from the east towards Klang valley, we decided to stop by and have our dinner.

Portion was generous, we ordered 4 dishes for RM71.
咸蛋桂豆苗: 4/5 (crispy and non oily)
咸菜豆腐汤: 4/5 (just nice to warmth our tummy during a rainy night)
咕咾肉: 3/5 (nothing to shout about, pretty normal and bland)
福建面: 3/5 (with a hint of sweetness, it tastes very different from what we have in Klang Valley)

It’s located next to a swamp/river, don’t expect too much on the environment and cleanliness. The chef actually cooks next to the toilet.

However, they have a very friendly aunty to take our order and intro us their menu.

A local friend introduced us to this restaurant, and we were impressed by the very friendly service. If you're from out of town and need a parking coupon, you can buy a single coupon here instead of purchasing a whole book from elsewhere.

The food was delicious, albeit slightly salty, but still within an acceptable range. The Pepper Pig Stomach soup was superb, and the ginger-steamed fish was also great. Don’t miss the stir-fried Pig Intestine either. All the other dishes we tried were good as well. The portions are generous, so be careful not to over-order!

However, note that the environment is slightly below average. The restaurant is located by the swamp (river) and doesn't have air conditioning.

Importantly, don't confuse this Aik Kee with the other famous one. This place offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience.

Overall, we had a great meal here.

We picked this restaurant due to other Chinese restaurants are fully booked due to CNY. But to our surprise the food are extra ordinary. It has been such long time we have not tasted such fresh steamed fish, the fish meat is bouncy in texture. The pork intestine is crunchy and chewy. There is river running alongside the restaurant, it is breezy and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much.

Local flavours and skillful chef, don’t miss this gem. Clean and comfortable environment, walk through the small entrance and its large and sprawling interior will reveal itself. Next to the river with nice view. The Hokkien mee was very good and the catfish in ginger sauce was surprisingly good, no muddy taste on the fish. We enjoyed the pig stomach chicken soup as well very peppery

Day trip to Bentong. Randomly, decided to try their food as we walked past and saw this restaurant.
Ordered Sang Har mee + Fried Spring roll. Both were good and didn't disappoint us at all. But I just felt that their Sang Har is a bit overpriced. Otherwise all is good, can give this shop a try when in Bentong. Their fried spring roll is a must-try, of course.

Aik Kee is located in a nondescript wooden building with a tiny signboard at the front. Walk through the narrow entrance and you are greeted with a large airy dining area that is right next to a river lined with sugarcane plants. There is no air-conditioning but there is a water sprinkler system to help cool the place down on hot days. On the particular day I was there, the weather was a cooling 30 degrees so it was just perfect.

There were four of us and we ordered 3 of the signature dishes, the yam ring, deep fried spring roll (chun kuen) and pot style tofu. We also ordered stir fried yau mak to add some greens.

The yam ring was beautifully done and all the dishes tasted great. The portion was sufficient although I ordered small for everything.

The bill came up to slightly over RM70 which is quite reasonable as yam ring is usually quite expensive at most places as there is a lot of work involved in preparing it.

Instead of jostling with the other day trippers at crowded restaurants, why not head over to this hidden gem with a great view?

River catfish, yam basket chicken cube, spring rolls are the signature dishes. Steam fish and yam basket are fresh didn't disappoint. The captain is excellent in not over recommending the portion of the dishes. Total spent around rm160.00. Worth a try for food enthusiasts. However way back to kl is always jam.
