The chicken rice is fragrant but a bit soggy. The steam chicken meat is good. The chicken rice chili sauce is very spicy. The air conditioning is still not cool enough. Service is very slow. Kolomee tastes too sweet. Orange juice tastes like water and too expensive. Overall, I am not happy with everything.

I have never been to a place where roasted chicken with noodles took an hour to come out?

Even this croissant sandwich took 45 mins?

I recently had lunch at Hainan Cuisine in Limbang, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant's cozy and vibrant interior provided a welcoming atmosphere, with modern yet nostalgic Hainanese decor. The food was simply outstanding — I enjoyed a rich and flavorful curry noodle dish topped with crispy fried chicken (supposed to be roasted chicken but since it's unavailable, they ask me if I want to replace it with a chicken curry or fried chicken), a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg, and savory accompaniments. For drinks, their creamy iced chocolate with a generous swirl of whipped cream was indulgent and refreshing.

The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a smooth dining experience. The overall cleanliness and neat layout of the restaurant added to the charm. It’s clear they pay attention to details, from the presentation of the dishes to the overall ambiance. I highly recommend Hainan Cuisine for anyone looking for a hearty meal and great service in Limbang!

Tried out Hainan Cuisine Limbang and here’s my verdict:

PB Bun with Kaya & Butter – 4.5/5
Absolutely loved this! The bun was soft and fluffy, paired perfectly with a generous spread of sweet and savoury kaya and butter. A comforting classic done right.

Kolo Mee with Chicken – 3/5
This was pretty average. The noodles were decent but lacked that signature punch. It’s alright if you’re hungry, but nothing memorable.

Kopi C Special – 5/5
Now this was the highlight. Creamy, smooth, and just the right level of sweetness. Easily one of the best Kopi Cs I’ve had in a while. Would come back just for this.

Hainan Cuisine Limbang antara tempat favourite kami utk bawa family makan. Makanan & minuman memang ok tp service hari ni 30/03/25 sangatlah mengecewakan. Makanan dah sampai tapi minuman tak sampai². Hampir 1 jam menunggu minuman sampai. Kenapa perlu nak tunggu semua minuman siap dibancuh baru hantar semua order minuman? At least soft drink boleh dihantar dulu. Dahlah lambat sangat hantar order minuman,minta maaf pun tidak. Please improve your service. TQ

Overall, I think they nailed the interior design. As soon as you enter , you’ll notice the arrangement of the table and it will somehow remind you of the old time , having family dinner inside Chinese restaurants when you were still young. The lighting is sufficient, a little too bright for me but hey , everyone have their own preferences right? Hehe

Service is great, waiting time for food is normal since I went there by myself and ordered for one serving only.

I ordered Chicken Curry with Rice. For me personally, I like the overly thick and rich taste of santan/milk (or whatever they put in it). However, they need to improve on the way they chop the chicken. I dare to say this because this is my 2nd time ordering here, the 1st time I ordered through Food Panda. The amount of bones & meat is not balanced, most of the time I ended up chewing lot of chicken bones and it makes me crave for some more chicken to be honest.

Nevertheless, I am satisfied with my order and will definitely come again soon to try another menu. They did a fantastic job. Thank you.

If you’re a fan of Hainanese cuisine, this spot is a must-visit! The flavors are incredible, but I have to say—I’ve noticed they frequently run out of their steamed chicken. It would be fantastic if the management could boost their stock to ensure that every patron leaves satisfied. With a little adjustment, this place could be even more amazing!

Nice bright air conditioned cafe. Food was however mediocre. We ordered chicken rice, the chicken was undercooked, nearly raw.
