I had an amazing dining experience at Surubar! The food, drinks, and dessert were all top-notch, especially the Masala Fried Rice, which was packed with bold, aromatic spices and cooked to perfection. The Honey Lemon Drink was refreshingly tangy and sweet - a perfect balance that complemented the meal beautifully. And for dessert, the Sago Gula Melaka was a dream - rich, creamy, and perfectly sweetened - a perfect end to the meal!

A special shoutout to Chef Jerry - his cooking is absolutely outstanding. You can taste the passion and skill in every bite. Every dish was made with care and bursting with flavor. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys bold, delicious flavors.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Surubar Restaurant and Bar, and I must say—it was an exceptional experience from start to finish!

First and foremost, the food was outstanding. We had the Kam Heong Chicken with Rice, and it was easily one of the best we’ve had in a long time—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. The Wild Boar Perattal was bold and delicious, hitting all the right notes. The Chicken Roulade and Mushroom Soup were equally impressive—beautifully presented and rich in flavor. We also tried the Masala Chicken Fried Rice, which was just the right balance of spice and aroma—not too overwhelming, just perfect. And the Desi Fire Mutton Pizza with its crispy thin crust was a unique and delightful fusion that really worked.

The ambience of the restaurant is another standout—calm, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing meal with family or friends. The soft background music adds just the right touch to the whole atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a good conversation.

A special shout-out to the customer service team, who were attentive, friendly, and ensured our experience was nothing short of excellent. And of course, a big thank you to the owner, whose warm and welcoming personality truly adds a personal touch to the place. It’s rare to see such genuine hospitality, and it made our visit all the more memorable.

This was a family outing, and we all agreed that we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place with great food, great vibes, and even better people.

Absolutely one of the most immaculate and charming establishments I have come across in my travels. Accommodating, attentive, kind and knowledgeable wait staff including Nancy, Thun, Layek The food is impeccable(their chef Jeffry uncompromising in his want to serve the best cuisine possible)....start the night out with their Kam Heong Lala (or Fish). Beautiful and inviting interior and very chill classic Western music. Oh, they have Kentucky Whiskey and Tennesee whiskey and Stella Artois and Corona and...."FIREBALL: which most of the above mentioned aren't available.

Quite ok with this place generally.
But, I find the service where the waiters are quite pushy and keep asking to add beers/ liquor or not. Just want you to finish the drinks faster…
Atmosphere quite ok with inside and outside seatings. Outside with high stools and just need to be extra careful so that it’s not topper down.
Food, didn’t get to try much but seems like there’s quite a decent selection.
Carparks given it’s at shop lots area and can be hard to find one when workers from other offices/ shops occupied the parking lots.

Had dinner at Surubar recently and it was such a pleasant surprise! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and the staff were super friendly.

The milkshakes were a addictive– thick, creamy, and full of flavor. Definitely one of the highlights! I had the spaghetti aglio olio and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted – simple, spicy, and so satisfying.

We also tried the chicken chop, which was tender and juicy, and the portion was generous. The kuey teow goreng was packed with flavor – nicely fried with just the right amount of spice and seasoning.

To end the meal, the sago dessert was just the right amount of sweet and really refreshing.

Overall, Surubar served up a great mix of Western comfort food and local favorites. Everything felt homemade and done with love and care. Definitely will come again!

It was our Saturday nite family dinner and we kinda ordered nearly everything on the menu and tried most of the cocktails. Expresso martini was too good….and they even fixed me my Old Fashioned despite not being in the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the creative takes on local foods and western dishes as well.
The restaurant per se had a very pleasant ambience, while I was totally in love with their bar setup! It finds the optimum mix between stylish and easygoing, making it appropriate for any occasion. The commendable service was like an icing on the cake. A perfect hangout in Cheras for me by far!

Not sure whether if it's because we're the first group to dine in that day, the kitchen's not ready? Because other reviews are all 5stars but our food came quite slow. I ordered pork chop initially but 50% of it was so tough the knife couldn't cut through. They switched it to fish n chips as compensation but the batter was very bad - spongy and soft. Not crunchy. Price on the higher side. Cocktail was OK

I tell you the truth, initially we were at Lol Soon Kee dessert and was looking for a place to have dinner + discussion, then my bf pointed at this restaurant opposite. So we did what anyone would and googled this place, all seems too good to be true when we saw they have 5.0 rating. Nevertheless we gave them a chance, so here’s our review.

Environment 5/5: comfy, not too cold, soft music and not noisy.
Food 4.5/5
Special mention:
1. Our friend’s Marsala fried rice is bomb 💣 so flavourful, am not a big fan of Marsala spice but this I enjoyed the bite I stole 😆
2. My bf liked their lamb chop so much, he asked for extra black pepper sauce and he cleaned the lamb!

Conclusion, the rating they got is not fake. We plan to go again.
