Best island resort at Kota Kinabalu Sabah..

We had an amazing stay despite the rainy season. For 7 pax, our Villa 6 was spacious with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We also organized a birthday dinner at their Arang Restaurant for our mom and ordered table-side bbq with plenty main selection and it was really worth the price. The portion was generous and by the end of the dinner, we were so full. The dinner was also accompanied by a live band singing us a couple of songs. Overall, it was a splendid service by the hotel and the restaurant.

Booked two nights stay. The hospitality is top notch. It was a great and memorable experience despite the uncertainties of the weather. You'll have the island exclusively (for in-house guests) every after 4PM until at least 9-10AM on the next day. No internet in the rooms, only in the reception and restaurant. |For dining, ARANG restaurant is the only option (compliments to the Chef, foods are excellent) - for some snacks you may grab them from the reception. Beach side cleaning is conducted every morning.||Special thanks to the most Nordi and Farra for making our stay extra special, most importantly during my Wife's birthday.|Also, thanks to Anwar, Amberly, Firdaus, Evelyn, Gerlyn and others, too many names to mention that i can't remember 😀. Thank you All!👏🏻||There is just one staff (Sharul) who is quite rude in the Arang restaurant. Maybe he is just having a bad day.||Overall, it was an amazing stay!

Absolutely perfect stay! The hillside apartment was a dream, even better than we imagined. The staff were absolutely amazing, especially Grace who was equal parts professional, friendly and funny 🥰 The food was delicious. When we stayed, they actively restricted the private beach to guests only and it was paradise! So relaxing and peaceful. Snorkeling was super fun, all the fish are underneath the pier, they are so cute!

Sutera Sanctuary Lodges, also known as Manukan Island Resort, is a luxurious 5-star retreat located on the stunning Manukan Island—just a 20-minute boat ride from Sutera Harbour in mainland Kota Kinabalu. The island’s natural beauty is truly captivating, with its powdery white sands, turquoise waters, and occasional sightings of sea urchins and corals.

Guests can enjoy complimentary snorkeling, offering a chance to spot vibrant fish and coral reefs up close. The island also welcomes day-trippers, making it a popular stop for island-hopping adventures or relaxing day outings.

The resort features spacious rooms equipped with a range of modern amenities. One of the highlights is the scenic 1.6-kilometer paved trail leading to Sunset Point—a perfect spot to unwind on the rocks and soak in panoramic views of the vast sea framed by neighboring islands.

We enjoyed the great hospitality from the hotel. Some privileges provided to hotel guests really enhanced the exclusiveness of the stay. Although it’s a public island, it didn’t sacrifice our comfort as hotel guests. Food was good. Portion was big so we ordered few dishes for sharing. I especially enjoyed the breakfast. We get to choose our set meals from the menu and they served the food to the table, unlike buffet breakfast that I have to bring my 2 kids around to choose their food. It was an enjoyable 3 d 2 n trip. We snorkelled at private beach area and we saw giant corals and a lot of fish. We walked across the island, not much things to do but we enjoyed the scenery and relaxing vibe.

Struttura eccezionalmente scenografica, con alcuni alloggi immersi nel verde della collina e vista spiaggia, ampi, luminosi e ben arredati. Ottima cucina al ristorante, con un buon mix tra cucina locale e internazionale - non esitate a chiedere a cena il menù del pranzo e viceversa per avere maggiore scelta. ||Tutto il team è eccezionalmente premuroso ed efficiente - e vorrei ringraziare in particolare Rauf e Grace per aver aiutato in tutti i modi possibili a rendere il piacevole il soggiorno. ||E ora la nota dolente: la plastica che proviene dalla terra ferma pervade mare e spiaggia, con un po’ di tregua quando le correnti non sono forti. La struttura pulisce regolarmente, ma il problema non può essere risolto da loro. ||Ogni giorno la spiaggia è invasa da gitanti che non esitano a sconfinare nella spiaggia privata, ma dalle 16 in poi diventa tranquillissima.
