⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ming Tai Restaurant: A Feast for the Senses (and the Soul!) in Sungai Pelek

Ming Tai Restaurant in Sungai Pelek isn't just a meal; it's a heartwarming culinary journey. As a passionate foodie, I'm always on the hunt for authentic flavors and memorable dining experiences, and Ming Tai delivered on all fronts – especially pleasing my elderly parents, which is always a bonus! This unassuming gem in Sungai Pelek truly deserves its five stars.

From the moment we sat down, the aroma of delicious food filled the air, promising a delightful meal. We opted for a selection of dishes, each one more impressive than the last:

Big Prawn Roll: This wasn't your average prawn roll! The prawns were huge, fresh, and cooked to succulent perfection. The roll itself was crispy and light, and the accompanying dipping sauce was the perfect complement. It was a generous portion and a fantastic start to our meal.

Stir-Fried Potato Leaves: A seemingly simple dish, but Ming Tai's rendition was exceptional. The potato leaves were tender and flavorful, stir-fried to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. It was a delightful balance of savory and slightly sweet, a true testament to the chef's skill in elevating everyday ingredients.

Braided Pork Belly: Oh my goodness, the braided pork belly! This dish was a masterpiece. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the layers of fat and lean meat created a symphony of textures and flavors. It was rich, savory, and utterly divine. My parents, who are usually quite picky, declared it one of the best pork belly dishes they'd ever had.

Homemade Tofu: The homemade tofu was a revelation. It was incredibly soft and silky, with a delicate flavor that was enhanced by the accompanying sauce. It was clear that this tofu was made with care and attention to detail.

What made the experience even more special was seeing the joy on my elderly parents' faces. They thoroughly enjoyed every dish, and that made the meal even more meaningful for me. Ming Tai's food is not only delicious but also comforting and nourishing, perfect for diners of all ages.

The service at Ming Tai was also top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed.

If you're in Sungai Pelek and craving authentic Chinese cuisine that will warm your heart and satisfy your taste buds, Ming Tai Restaurant is an absolute must-visit. After a good kayaking trip, this place is great for lunch. It is tasty, and we end up ordering more than 10 dishes.

Good traditional taste of Chinese food restaurants nearby Avani Sepang Gold Coast Resort. Reasonable price with good home cook Chinese style.

1# parking area facing big dustbin, very strong unpleasant odor, but inside the restaurant is fine, it’s typical air conditioned chinese restaurant.
2# young foreign workers are very efficient, they know what to do and they do quick. Local aunty uncle workers are quite chaos like not sure what to do and not care too much. Overall service not giving a good feeling due to majority workers are local aunty uncle.
3# October 2024, menu without price. Won’t know the price during order and when you pay at counter they don’t give you receipt unless you ask for it.
4# food taste ordinary, maybe considered good for customer who like light taste but for anyone prefer heavier taste you will definitely feel it’s not nice.
5# comment on the food I ordered: pumpkin toufu nice; salted egg fried squid the taste is ok but the squid and flour is not crispy type it’s soggy type; crab meat toufu soup taste a bit light can feel the crab inner soft shell texture proving there is real crab meat in it but can’t taste the crab at all.
6# pricing definitely not cheap as some of the other reviews mentioned but of course it depends on what you ordered. My dinner for 2: pumpkin toufu 18, squid 32, crab toufu soup 30 plus 2 white rice and 2 soft drink total RM99.

Came early, they open at 11.30am, already got 3 tables booked. They have tables in two shops. Food are yummy and delicious. Lemon chicken, pork potato pot, fish, veggies, mantis prawn, all good. Would recommend this shop. Came out RM35 per person. Reasonable.

Went to this place after our fishing trip since it was on the way back home. The food here was tasty and our favourite dish was their homemade tofu with minced pork. It was really flavourful and the tofu was cooked perfectly well. The fish was fresh and the meat was juicy. Price wise I would say it was reasonable.
