Yew Li restaurant is definitely making a name for itself, and after trying it, I can see why! The big draw here is undoubtedly their prawns and when they say huge, they mean HUGE! These weren't your average shrimp cocktail sized prawns; these were substantial, meaty crustaceans that were incredibly satisfying.

The taste leans towards a sweet profile, which I personally enjoyed. It was a nice counterpoint to the rich prawn flavor and offered a unique experience compared to the typically savory prawn dishes you often find. If you prefer a spicier or more savory flavor, you might want to inquire about options, but for me, the sweetness was well-balanced.

Beyond the impressive prawns, Yew Li also boasts a Petai Sambal that's a crowd favorite, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The sambal was vibrant and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice to complement the pungent petai. It's definitely a must-try for anyone who appreciates this unique ingredient.

A foodie gem in Serendah. Looks like an average shop in a small town, but their food are truly out of this world. The shop is pretty small with limited space, recommended to make a reservation if you're planning to visit on peak hours. Service is pretty basic like any other Chinese shops. Extremely clean toilet for Chinese restaurants standard, color me impressed.

We got their signature prawns and it's absolutely delicious. My favourite part of it is the sauce - sweet and savoury, pairs really well with the shrimp roe and the juicy meat. The price is pretty expensive tho, still worth a try just for the experience.

Their daily catch of the day were some wild Marble Gobys (顺壳鱼), we got a soy-steamed version of it. The quality of the fish is top tier, extremely fresh. The meat is like any high quality Marble Goby, smooth, soft, but with a firm texture, absolutely amazing. Their soy sauce is abit too light for my taste, which is fine since the fish was the sole star of the show.

Their sambal petai was also quite unique. It's my first time tasting petai with anchovies and dried shrimps (虾米), pretty interesting combo that I enjoyed. We also got some kangkung, I liked that they cooked it with cili padi, which adds a certain kick to the light dish. The salt-steamed chicken is also delicious, flavorful meat with the herbal based sauce mix well together, quite alot of bones tho. The claypot pork in my opinion is fine.

Highly recommended, it's worth a detour if you're passing by for some early dinner. We visited early evening of a Monday and it wasn't crowded at all.

The fried kangkung? Fragrant and spicy! And the steamed fish, wow, extremely spicy ginger and a hint of alcohol. But the prawn? That was the best. At RM 70 each for almost 500g, totally delicious

Great place for fresh seafood.

Their signature Big Head Prawn is really huge in size and the texture is firm. The frog is very fresh and outstanding.

Last call for order is at 6:30pm.

This place is no longer a hidden gem as more and more crowd are coming over. This place serves great yellow wine chicken, ginger steam frog, petai ikan bilis & honey glazed prawn. Price are reasonable but big prawn can cost a small fortune. My recommended spot if you wouldn’t mind travelling from KL

Very delicious food, highly recommend the steamed soon hock fish and yellow wine chicken. Would be perfect if it's air-conditioning seatings.
