quick fix for a dinner while some other famous seafood shops aren’t open.

Actually they serve really nice seafood too. While they were catering for 40 prebooked customers, they were still managed to serve us within a good time.

The Guinness pork rib is a must try. Crayfish is a little small, but acceptable.

We had lunch here before heading back to Singapore. The Rojak chicken was really delicious. Highly recommend. The rest of the food i.e. tofu, potato leaf and steam fish was quite decent.

Very nice food in this restaurant. The fried fruit fish is their signature dish and it's really delicious. We asked about the price before ordering and it was at a reasonable price. The salted egg crayfish was superb and the rest of the dishes (fried salted chilli squid and fried glass lettuce) didn't disappoint us. Nice and friendly service there too. Will definitely be back again next time we are in Mersing.

原本要定的餐馆由于父亲节的关系爆满。
这里是我的第二选择，本来也没有抱太大的希望，结果打去竟然还有位子，赶紧订了五个位子。 老板娘说八点last order,所以发了菜单给我先下单。
我点了招牌的水果鱼，咸蛋苏东，清炒番薯叶，咸鱼花南煲，芙蓉蛋，咖喱猪肉片。

里面最好吃的是咸鱼花南煲，锅气很足。
水果鱼呢味道如果再重一点会更好吃。
咖喱猪肉片和番薯叶还不错。
芙蓉蛋和咸蛋苏东就有待进步。

The restaurant we originally planned to book was fully booked due to Father's Day. This place is my second choice. I didn't have high expectations, but when I called, they actually had seats available, so I quickly booked five. The owner said the last order is at 8 PM, so she sent me the menu to order in advance.

I ordered the signature fruit fish, salted egg squid, stir-fried sweet potato leaves, salted fish with tofu casserole, Fu Rong egg, and curry pork slices.

The best dish was the salted fish with pork
which had a great wok hei (wok aroma). The fruit fish would have been even better with a stronger flavor. The curry pork slices and sweet potato leaves were pretty good. The Fu Rong egg and salted egg squid need some improvement.

My initial plan was to dine at Mersing Seafood as soon as I got out of Tioman Island but fate had other plans for me. It decided to rest on that day (they didn't have fixed off day) so I quickly scrambled for my phone and found this restaurant further down the stretch of shoplots.

Already famished and wanted to get everything over with, as we had to rush back to KL - the day was getting dark - we just walked in.

◾Deep fried fish with fruits - the fish was over-fried a little bit but still chewable nonetheless, but it was the sweet & sour (from asam boi) inspired sauce coupled with freshly cut fruit that made the dish interesting.
◾Deep fried calamari with salt & pepper - never got tired of sotong goreng
◾pai kuat wong - something for the young ones - sweet but the sauce was a bit diluted.
◾Mongolian style chicken surprisingly usurped the pai kuat wong as kids' favourite.
◾sweet & sour pork - the meat still had the crispiness on the outer layer while being coated by the sauce.
◾butter gourd omelette wasn't popular with the young ones but I kinda liked it.
◾sizzling japanese beancurd was standard.
◾stir fried yin choy with anchovies - addition of crispy element on the vegetable really made the difference.

In the end, the food did its job to fill our tummies but given the choice, I'd stick to Mersing Seafood next time.

After reading a few restaurants in Mersing, I found that Fried fish fruits are common menu here. The fried fish fruits was quite crispy but the fruits were nothing extraordinary. Pineapple would be a better fruit to include in the menu. Fish was fresh. Also ordered fried potato leaves with garlic which I found it to be normal. Fish and potato leaves was RM66 for 1 person. Pricing average.

Decent food and very fresh steam fish. Cereal prawn not nice. Waited for 70 mins just 6 tables only.
